The Sievert cylinder 200426 is the most used gas bottle in Germany and is therefore also known as the red “tinsmith bottle”, “roofer bottle” or “craftsman bottle”. Its capacity of 425 gr. (1 liter) propane gas was not chosen at random. This amount of gas corresponds exactly to the amount that can be decanted from standard 5, 11 or 33 kg gas cylinders in Germany. The bottle is also equipped with a sandwich dangerous goods label, because the gas cylinder is delivered without gas and is not subject to the Dangerous Goods Ordinance if the dangerous goods label is covered. Only after the first filling does the first layer of the dangerous goods sticker have to be removed. From this point on, the gas cylinder is officially classified as dangerous goods.
